I'm a proud Shepherd Pirate and Texas Longhorn. After graduating Shepherd High School in 2001 I moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Education. During college, I also had the privilege of working for the Texas House of Representatives at the state capitol. This gave me a front row seat to, two historic legislative sessions and supplied me with a wealth of knowledge on how government processes work and operate. It was also during this time that I truly discovered my passion for all things political and historical.
While I knew I would someday reach the classroom, I took a small detour after graduation to work in corporate America. I worked for Dell Computers for 5 years in operations and marketing. In addition to providing me with corporate business experience this career also afforded me the opportunity to travel the world. I visited many countries and enjoyed learning how other cultures and people lived. This was a very rewarding career but I soon realized that I wouldn't be happy unless I had a more hands-on role in helping others. It was this decision that led me to social services where I worked for a foster care and adoption agency. It was here that I saw the growing need for individuals who could inspire and motivate children to see their true potential and help them excel in the classroom. I'm now in my second year of teaching at Shepherd Middle School and couldn't be happier to work in such a great community with such wonderful students.
I look forward to embarking on this new year of teaching with each and everyone of you. If you'd like to get to know me a little better please feel free to browse through my list of favorites. I also want to hear from you and learn as much as I can about your child. Feel free to email me or send me a message, via the form, on my contact page.
